The Contacts module is
the foundation for the program and is the required
starting point for all users. The reason for this
is simple: certain data, such as the value a supplier
adds, can only be measured as it applies to a specific
company. While the user does not need to record contact
data in every field, there are six fields that are utilized
in other modules and which should be entered for each
contact: First Name, Middle Name and Last Name (creates
the contact name for program use), Company, Division/Plant,
and Title.

While entering contact
information is fairly straightforward, there are three
fields that need some explanation:
Company: This is a control
field. To minimize name variations the user selects the
contact’s company from a drop down list or clicks
on the far right to open a form for entering a new customer.
Division/Plant: This
is also a control. It allows the user to select several
different locations for one contact, or to add to the
list with a similar pop up form.
Address: This field utilizes
the pop up form as a means to minimize typing (allows
the user to select an existing address instead of retyping
for each contact with the address).
